We are so excited to present our first engagement session of the year! Laura and Jon made our job so easy-- besides being absolutely gorgeous, they have such style! Picture James Stewart and Kim Novak-- intense!

We started at Spruce, a really beautiful bar/restaurant in San Francisco.

K: Laura was WORKING that look! I love the way she just leaned across the bar and BAM! Gave us that look. These two have some heat.

N: We stopped in the Presidio, on our way down to Fort Point, nestled under the Golden Gate Bridge. It was chilly, but Laura and Jon were great sports!

ljb5.jpgK: I love how Laura looked at me in that second shot. So old Hollywood.

ljb12.jpg
N: I wish you could have seen Laura's rockin' high heels in this picture! Pretty amazing to watch her climb out on the slippery wet rocks to get his shot. Of course, Jon is such a gentleman, helping her every step of the way...
K: That shot rocks my world! Niki had to do some rock climbing herself to get it! We had a little crowd of people watching us. I'm sure hoping to see one or all of us fall into the bay! HAHAHA. I was smart, I stayed on solid ground and held the light for Niki!

ljb13.jpgN: We finished up on Chrissy Field, with Kim "painting" Jon and Laura with light to get this cool night shot. It was really fun!
K: Really fun - but this was the only shot that didn't have movement in it. They had to stand frozen for a LONG time! ;).

We had a blast shooting this couple, but really the best part of the whole day was just hanging out with them in a bar, getting to know them. Such a warm and fun couple. Thanks Laura and Jon! You guys are so much fun to hang out with! Can't wait for the wedding!
xoxo

Last week, Kim and I had the opportunity to photograph an incredible group of moms! These amazing ladies all have children with special needs. As a part of a campaign started by Autism File, a magazine raising awareness by showcasing group photos of women like this around the world, we braved the cold and the rain to hit the streets of downtown Pleasanton.

Hats off to Cindy, Wendy, Janeen, Lisa, Betsy, and Renee! They came ready to play, as you can see in the photos below.

Our last wedding this year proved to be a whirlwind of color, activity, family ties and love. This was the very first time photographing an Indian ceremony. Niki and I were thrilled and left breathless from the experience. We cannot wait to do another one!
The whole day is not just about the coming together of two people but really it is about the bringing together of two families. Never have we felt so in the mix of things. I loved that throughout different parts of the ceremony we were invited to come in close.
Anju came with her sisters and other family member to get ready. Could she be any more beautiful. So much texture and vibrate colors in her saree. The mehndi on her ands and feet was simply amazing.

The Barat was unbeiliviable! It was so emotional for us. We were thrilled by the energy and people who came with Sri. We kept saying to each other " I am loving this! So much fun! I think I'm gonna cry!"
What I loved most was how inviting everyone was! I was able to get up close - surrounded by all the family and friends of Anju and Sri. We felt so a part of the whole celebrations. We love all kinds of ceremonies for sure, but what was so amazing during this ceremony was the way were were allowed to participate. During parts of the Barat and Jai Mala we were as close as we could get, completely surrounded by the guests. I loved it.

Thanks you so much Anju and Sri for letting us be a part of this beautiful, emotional, amazing day.
We have more to come of this amazing day so stay tuned!
